Are you the next digital influencer? - Career HQ
I was recently on a cruise and met a couple whose entire job is to travel around the world taking photos in beautiful locations to promote brands. They were social media influencers staying in first class, with free accommodation and all food and expenses paid. What a great gig! And they got to do it all year round on six figure salaries! I want to become a digital influencer.

How is this possible and can I get the gig?

With the explosion of social media there has been a rise of digital influencers. These are people on YouTube, Instagram or bloggers who have such enormous, engaged and connected community online that brands pay them to promote their products. That sneaky Red Bull or the product your influencer is promoting is not there by chance. It is a paid advert and if you have the right reach through your digital channels you can be paid the big bucks.

It’s easy to think that becoming an influencer takes no skill. You don’t just take one photo, stick them up and BAM – show me the money! Wrong. The level and amount of competing interest online means that today in order to build and maintain your influence you need to continually innovate and deliver engaging content that inspires your audience. They have to keep coming back for more, or you are no longer an influencer. You will need skills in design, in social media, in branding and marketing, SEO and that is where we want to help. Here are a link to a range of TAFE and university courses around Australia that will help you to build your skills to be the best influencer you can be.
