Where can I find a great online course?
Online learning platforms are making learning and upskilling more accessible and affordable than ever. With short and micro courses, and even Masters degrees being offered online the opportunity to invest in your own learning has never been easier. If you’re looking to increase your attractiveness to an employer completing online courses is a great way to demonstrate your curiosity and motivation to learn. Also, if you’re beginning to consider a new career path or area of study, online learning is a great way to test out, at a low cost, whether it is a good fit for you. And while most of these courses aren’t accredited, they are still a great way to upskill.
In this article we share some a few of the online learning platforms that are available so you can find the right course for you!
Founded by two Australians InsideSherpa is an open access platform designed to connect students with company-endorsed Virtual Work Experience Programs. The great thing about these programs is that they give you the chance to directly experience work tasks and to see inside the doors of organisations like Deloitte, KPMG, ANZ and Baker Mckenzie. The internships span from specialised legal areas, through to digital disruption and banking courses. Best of all, employers will get the chance to see your work and to see if you are a good candidate for their organisation.

The question is: What is one skill you would like to improve or develop and where can you get access to learning more about this online?
And the task is: Find and sign up to one course to develop that skill. We recommend you designate a weekly time to commit to the course and reflect on how you incentivise this practice enough to make sure you commit to finishing the course. Even just one hour a week can make a big difference!
